We invite you to join us today!
When you become a member of the Omena Woods Association you become part of the solution to conserving and preserving our beautiful community for future generations to enjoy. If you are interested in an Omena Woods Association membership scroll down the page and fill out the form below. An association member will contact you to discuss your membership.
You can choose to become a Friend of the Woods, a non-voting membership in the Omena Woods Association, or you can become a full voting member of OWA. Please read the following descriptions of the two membership options and then pick the one that best suits your needs and budget.
Friend of the Woods is a non-voting membership for individuals who reside or own property within the Omena Woods Association boundaries. Friends enjoy many of the same privileges and benefits of voting members, including use of our beautiful hiking and ski trails, the opportunity to participate in conservation and preservation projects on the property, attendance at our annual meeting and the chance to participate on select committees. To become a Friend of the Woods requires a one-time $1,000 tax-deductible donation to the Leelanau Conservancy's Omena Fund, and payment of annual dues of $100.
Become a Voting Member of the Omena Woods Association by purchasing a minimum of a one-quarter share for $2,500*. In addition members must reside or own property within the Omena Woods Association boundaries. Voting members enjoy all the benefits and privileges of membership, including voting on important issues at the association’s annual meeting. The initial share purchase price is not tax-deductible, since your purchase makes you an actual property owner in the association. Voting members also pay annual dues of $100.
*Because land values in Northern Michigan are rapidly increasing, the cost of becoming a voting member of the Omena Woods Association may change without notice.
